Toronto Outdoors Guide

Trails

  • Nearly 14 km’s long, this easy well maintained paved path suits walkers, joggers and bikers. Multiple bridges to cross the river and passes by many golf courses through wooded areas

  • Yes it can get busy here, especially at sunset which offers fantastic views. The trail leads to a lookout point and you can head down to the beach after to cool off.

  • After a stop at Evergreen Brickworks take this old rail line through the ravines up to Mount Pleasant Cemetery

  • This waterfront trail will take you through many parks and downtown. 56kms of paved pathways allow you to walk or bike. The downtown stretch starts at High Park and ends at the Don River. Perfct mix of scenic views and downtown vibes.

  • Catch the ferry from downtown to Hanlan’s Point and make your way to Gibraltar Point. Soon after you will reach Centre Island Beach, a perfect halfway point and walk out on the Centre Island Pier. Continue your way around the island and catch the Ward’s Island Ferry back over.

  • A fantastic West end park with walking trails, off leash dog park and great views of the water. The main trail extends out on the peninsula and offers many small beaches and sitting areas.

Activities

  • Summer time beach volleyball is a quintessential activity on Woodbine Beach with nets and balls for rent. Heck, just watching is fun. You can also walk along the boardwalk, stroll over to Ashbridge Bay and up to Queen St for a bite to eat.

  • There are many places to rent kayaks, canoes or stand up paddle boards, both on the Islands or the mainland. Whichever location you choose, you will be sure to have an amazing view looking back at the city

  • Is a great option to add after Woodbine Beach, there is so much to see on the peninsula that we recommend biking to see it all. Cross the floating bridge and get all the way out to the old Toronto Harbor Lighthouse

  • Best known for the Cherry Blossoms in spring, we love to make it “High” Park. Perfect for a picnic or grab a bite on Bloor/ Dundas.

  • An excellent stop along the Waterfront trail. It is not big but it packs a punch with views of the CN Tower and Marina in a beautifully landscaped park.

  • So much to do! This could be a whole page. This former brick factory is now dedicated to environmental education and sustainability. There are many walking trails and outdoor spaces, but we love the gardens and Farmers Market.
